I'll be back soon

Just letting you all know why I havnt been around very much lately. I have injured my back, quite severely, I have a herniated disc in my spine, which has affected the sciatic nerve, and caused a fair bit of damage to it. I have lost a lot of strength, movement, and feeling in my leg, and foot, and am in a tonne of pain. I can’t sit, stand still or lie down much at all ( which means no computer, and no crafting ATM ) I haven’t slept for 9 days now, and am a bit of a mess. I have seen doctors, had CT scan, and a chiropractor, but it will take a lot of intensive treatment ( 8 to 12 weeks at least) I have to attend the office twice a day ATM, and, I live over an hour away, so Im spending all day, every day in Ballarat ( the closest town to us) and not getting very much else of anything done...... Hopefully I can get on top of it soon, and will be back doing what I love.

Thanks so much to everyone for all the get well wishes I have received, it really makes a difference to know I have so many people there, who care.. so thank you  xxxx

As an ADDIT: I just got a call from the Doctor, with the CT scan results. I have a herniated disc, with a tear in it, and will most likely need surgery :(

  11. So sorry Karen! I am going through the same symptoms which started for me in February, except they have not yet identified the cause yet. At first they thought it was a large uterine fibroid putting pressure on my spine. I had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago but no change in back symptoms. Can't sit, stand, walk without pain. At night my dreams are of the pain and me begging doctors to please help me. I was so active and happy before this happened. It has stolen my life away.

  13. hello girls
i suffered similiar injury many years ago, slipping on a wet concrete floor in the dairy. it truly is no fun. something that helped me sleep at nights was to put a pillow between the knees. if sleeping on your side, this stops a twist in the pelvis which of course puts pressure on the spine! even now ten years later first sign of a twinge out comes the pillow!
