join in and win

Hi there,

happy Saturday to you all :) Its a lovely sunny day here in Victoria. We are off to my BFF house for a BBQ today, so Im glad the sun is shining.

Theres a great new sketch up over at the Kaisercraft blog this morning. You definately need to have a go at this one, the prizes are fabulous, head HERE for the sketch and all the details. This is my take on this weeks sketch, using the newest Kaisercraft release 'Chanteuse'. And yep, you do see right, its a photo of me !! That doesnt happen very often, cos I really hate having my photo taken., although not quite so much now Ive lost all my excess weight :).

I love this new collection, and found it so easy to work with. I have more layouts from this range to show you next week too :) The kaisercraft wooden flourishes are 'to die for'. I love the birds and birdcages. I have painted the little bird with Tim Holtz crackle paint, and for the cage, I simply inked it in a brown Kaisercraft ink. Heres a closeup

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Thanks so much for calling in. Take care my friends

Loving these wooden flourishes

I am so loving playing with wooden flourishes ATM... There are just so many things you can do to them. For this layout, of my daughter, I have used a few of the new flourishes from Kaisercraft. The iron fence has been given a 'rusty' makeover, using distress ink, Tim holtz clear crackle paint, and some metal rub on.

Then I have simply painted the 'lamp post' with Tim Holtz Picket fence crackle paint, then used the same rusty metal technique for the top. Heres a few closeups.

Also, dont forget the Boxx cybercrop starting tonight, and running right through the weekend. You wont want to miss it. Thanks for calling in, and have a fantastic weekend my friends x

Cybercrop, and some shares

Hi,

A quickie today, as my little fella is a bit miserable at the moment. I just wanted to remind everyone about the BOXX cyber crop coming up next weekend. Click HERE for all the details.

And just a little share. Kaisercraft have released this gorgeous new product collection called 'Nan's favorites' this month. And it really does remind me of my Nan's kitchen. Check here for the entire collection. This is a layout of one of my boys 'helping' me with the baking. He thinks licking the beaters is the best part of all :) .

The little chipboard embellishments with this range are sooo cute, as are the wooden kitchen utensils. Thanks for calling in, and I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend x

Hi there all my scrappy friends :)

Im happy :) I have 80 followers now, isnt that so cool... 80 people think my blog is intersting enough to follow ? :) .... Who would have thought that 12 months ago, I had no blog, and no idea of how to go about starting one, now I am totally addicted to blogging, and love everything about it :)

I have a bit of Kaisercraft to share today. The latest releases for March are both gorgeous, and I have had great fun playing with them. Today I want to show you a recipe box I have made for my daughter, using the new 'Nans favorite' collection . She has recently moved out of home. She loves to cook, and will often call me asking how I make certain recipes she loves. So I thought i could make her her own recipe box, and include in it all her favorites, using the recipe cards included in this collection.

Thanks so much for calling in, and thanks for all the wonderful comments... Oh, and thanks for thinking Im interesting enough to follow LOL !!!! xx

a little challenge for you

Hi ladies,
Wow, its been a week since Ive blogged !! Where does the time go. Its just a quickie today, cos Ive got losts to do. Im up at 5.30 in the morning, to get some scrapping done before the kids wake up. LOL. So I really need to get off this computer, and actually do it.

I wanted to tell you about a little challenge we have set over at the Kaisercraft blog. I as you know have 5 kids, and 4 of them are boys, I really struggle with all the gorgeous girly collections I get for my DT projects, I just dont have enough photos of my DD , who is 20 now. So I decided to set myself a little challenge. I have plans to try to make a 'boy' layout out of even the most 'girly' collections Im handed. I have used Kaisercrafts totally pretty and girly 'Bubblegum Hills' collection for my first attempt, and really am quite happy with the result, and I dont think there is anything girly about my layout I did....

NOW HERES THE CHALLENGE
: the wonderful people at Kaisercraft have got on board, and are offering a prize of a $25.00 Kaisercraft collection of your choice for one lucky person who creates a layout like this, using one of their ranges. So have a go, choose the most girly papers you have, and make a boy layout from them, or even make a girly layout out of a predominantly masculine range. Here are the details .........

OK, gotta run and do some work :) well, playing LOL...... I will be back to share some more very soon

some new shares

Hi friends,

I got my layouts back from 'Australian scrapbook ideas' magazine, and remembered to photograph them this time. I was asked to do 3 x double layouts, which was a challenge in itself, as I dont tend to scrap doubles very often. I used some gorgeous photos of 3 of my boys at the beach for all the layouts. I am quite happy with how they turned out. I was lucky that I could pretty much do whatever I wanted for the mag feature, as long as they were double layouts, and sat well together on the magazine page. I have used lots of inking and destressing, which are 2 of my favorite techniques :) and even managed to slip in some handmade flowers too :)

I used Kaisercrafts 'homemade' collection for all the layouts, I love all the blues and browns in this collection. with a dusty attic fence which I destressed to look like rusty iron, and some birds cut from Websters paper.

For the layout above, I again used Kaisercraft 'homemade' collection, with some prima vines, and some handmade flowers.

The little frames Ive used in the 2nd 2 layouts are a pack from K and Company. The stitching technique I used is explained in a step x step in the current 'Australian scrapbook ideas' magazine, theres also step by step instructions on how to make all the layouts here :) ....

And some more exiting news to share, the scrapboox is having a cyber crop and a blog hop. The cyber crop theme is 'Home Comforts' .......... So put this date in your diaries, bring along plenty of MOJO, and a bottle of wine or 2, and we will see you there :)

'if you are visiting on the Boxx Cyber Crop blog train... your next stop will be http://bblowe.blogspot.com/2011/03/home-comforts.html "
