Hi there,
And Happy Australia Day for all the Aussies reading. Just a quick one today, to share a layout I did for Scrapbooking Memories, as part of my Masters application, no, I didnt make the top 10 :( but I did get an honourable mention for this layout.
I, like most scrapbookers, don’t tend to scrap layouts about me very often, but, I
thoroughly enjoyed this challenge, and am already planning my ‘next decade of
my life’ layout. Mum and I went through all the old family albums, searching
for photos of me when I was little, it bought back lots of good memories, things
we hadn’t thought about for a long time. We laughed, and talked for hours about
things we did when I was little, it was great fun for both of us.
Many of the photos I have of me as a little girl were not of
very high quality, and I found that if I enlarged them, they became too grainy,
and just not good enough to scrap. Out of necessity, I had to keep the photos
small, so I had to come up with some sort of page design that allowed for that. I decided on this grid style of layout, and I
am very happy with how it turned out. It enabled me to use a lot of photos on
the one layout, and there was even room for me to do a little journaling as
well.
The October afternoon paper collection was the perfect
choice for this layout. There are lots of little elements in the collection that
suited my layout, and the colours were such that I could use both my coloured
photos and black and white photos together.
Thanks so much for taking the time to call in, and please leave me a comment, so I know you were here. Take care everyone, especially those who are in the grips of yet another flood disaster, in QLD and NSW, my thoughts and prayers are with you xx
This double looks wonderful and well done on your HM too!!

ReplyDeleteI saw this and love the idea of the smaller photos for the same reason as you, they're a bit grainy, great job with this double.
