A challenge

Hello my friends,

I am here !! Just been really busy with DT work, that Im not able to show yet. I have however had some time to do a couple of challenges. I LOVED this sketch over at 'Once apon a ...sketch', I have also included the 'Bird is the word' criteria in my layout. The word for this challenge was 'Hope'

Heres the fabulous sketch I used from Nadia Cannizo.

And heres my layout. Hmmm, its a photo taken of me when I was about 6. OMGoodness, look at those freckles :) I remember how much I hated them as a kid. Then one day, when I was about 12, they all just dissapeared. (so happy about that he he )

And, I just cant continue without mentioning the absolutely, totally stunning flower I have used on this layout. Its from a brand new Aussie company called Manorhouse Creations. Are these the most beautiful flowers ever or what ? I got my stash from Annas craft cupboard, but Im sure they will be in your LSS very soon.

Now, I just have to share some more big news. I just got a phone call from my very excited Son, Samuel. He just today got his drivers licence :)  I think Im happy, of is that fear I feel. Anyway a huge congrats my gorgeous boy xx
Thankyou to everyone who takes the time to call in to my little blog, and a really big thankyou for all the wonderful messages you leave.

Have a wonderful weekend

ASI Magazine

Hi lovelies :)

I finally have something I can share. I have been absolutely flat out, creating my little heart out, but I haven't been able to share anything. Most of my work has gone to the CHA with Kaisercraft, and to magazines for publication over the next few months. But these few layouts came out in the latest 'Australian Scrapbook Ideas' yesterday, so I can show them :) ........  I did a feature for them on journalling. ( I can hear Sue laughing from here) She is always telling me I don't journal enough on my layouts. And when I was asked to do a feature on journalling, it really pushed me out of my comfort zone. But it was a good lesson, as really, the journalling is the most important part of scrapbooking. Without it, its really just a page of pretty pictures. So Ive made it my 'mission' to journal more on my layouts, and record the important memories :) ....  Here's what I did for the magazine.........

The above layout is a photo of my youngest DS, showing strip type journalling, and using rub on quotes for journalling

This layout is a photo of my Dad. The journalling is handwritten around the outside of the layout. It is a very meaningful layout to me. Telling my Dad how much I love him, and how thankful I am that HE is my Dad :)

And this last layout is again, of my youngest son. This 'SMILE' just cracks me up. He started doing it just before 2, and still does it now at 3, when he sees the camera. He thinks he looks great. We now have to tell him not to smile when trying to take a photo of him...LOL.... Thew journalling is hidden in the envelope on this layout.

Thank you so much for calling in, and for all the wonderful comments. I love reading them, and really appreciate the time taken to write them.
