A big fat nothing :)

This week I have been flat out, designing for Kaisercraft and CHA, also for 'Australian scrapbook Ideas', and 'Scrapbook magazine UK' and I cant show any of it :( ......

Im really excited though, I have been asked to join the design team for Scrapbook Magazine, in the UK....   I have completed my projects, and sent them off, and they will be published in the September issue of the magazine.

Oh, as an addit to this post, I actually do have something to show, its my Pencillines DT sketch. This is a great sketch, very easy to work with. Our sponsor for this month was Little musings digital stamps. ( thats the little butterfly on my LO) Ive never used digi 'anything' before, and have to admit, I was a bit hesitant, as I had no clue what I was doing, but I have to say now, I am a convert, they are surprisingly simple to use, as Im sure you all know, cos Im probably the last scrapper in the universe to venture into this area :) .....

Heres the sketch, the deadline for this is July 3rd, so head on over to Pencillines and give it a go, for some fantastic prizes.

And heres my take on the sketch. This photo is of my gorgeous youngest baby Harrison, when he was only 2 days old. Ive used Kaisercrafts 'Lullaby' collection, with some handmade flowers.

Happy Sunday

Hello my friends :)

Well, its a cold drizzly Sunday here in Victoria. And I think we are set to have another cold week next week. They are even predicting snow here, which for us only happens once every 5 years or so. The weather is just bizzarre. Its been the wettest, coldest summer for like a million years ( well something like that LOL) and now we are having the coldest winter for a million years too :( Ah well, its winter, what else can we expect.......

Today, I have a few cards to share, that Ive made using the latest Kaisercraft releases, Velvet ensemble and Gelato......    I love both of these ranges. I was immediately in love the the Velvet ensemble, but wasnt quite so sure about the Gelato, until I started playing with it, now, I love that too :) ....

The card below was taken from an idea I saw from Karola, this lady is amazing.  Ive simply pulled open a bisiness envelope, and traced it onto some white cardstock. Scored and folded it, using the emvelope as a guide, and decorated it. Easy Peasy !!!!!

This card was made using Velvet Ensemble. Ive glimmermisted the wooden bookplate, and used some metalic rubon to give it a bit of a rusty look :)

Thanks everyone for calling in, and thanks so much to everyone who left comments and congratulations about my job at Kaisercraft. I think ?? Ive managed to call in to everyones blog to thank them, but if I havnt made it to your blog yet, Im really sorry, Ive been having alot of problems with blogger lately ( as are lots of people I think) I have visited all your blogs, but sometimes, for some reason, it wont allow me to leave a comment... grrr, so frustrating.
Have a wonderful weekend
xx

Finally I can tell !!!!

Well, this has been a looooong wait for me, I really dont keep secrets very well at all, especially when its one Im so very excited about. OK, well, you all know that I reapplied for the Kaisercraft Design team for 2011-2012 right, well, Ive pulled out of the running !!!   I can see your faces now LOL. But its for a very good reason :)

I am now working at Kaisercraft, as an in house design team member

How totally awesome is that. I am working with Mel Kennedy, and all the wonderful people at Kaisercraft, I get to play all day, AND I get paid too. Does it get any better. Its part time, so I still get to be a stay at home Mum which was my wish. So all in all, Im a really happy little camper at the moment. Life is good :).

Now I have another layout to share, yep, you guessed it, a Kaisercraft one. This is another photo of me, I dont know whats got into me lately, Ive only ever done like, 4 layouts of me ever, and three of them have been in the last few weeks. Anyway, this was done using 'Gelato'. This is a really soft, pretty range. I was a bit lost as to what to do with it in the beginning, but, I am quite happy with how this turned out. And really like the collection now.
Ive made some really easy flowers by simply cutting 8 circles from the patterned paper, and pinching in one end of each circle, and glueing to make a little pleat. Do this with 7 of the flowers, using the 8th one as the base to glue the other 7 onto. Really easy right !!

Ah, I feel so much better now Ive been able to tell you guys my news. Thanks for calling in, and a HUGE congrats to all the new Kaisercraft DT members who are also being announced on the Kiasercraft blog this morning. xx. They are a very talented bunch.

Velvet ensemble is divine

WOW, I just LOVE this new range from Kaisercraft. Velvet Ensemble its called, and it is so totally up my alley. This is a layout I did for the Kaiser DT blog this week, PLUS Ive also designed the layout so it fit the criteria for the latest challenge at BIRD IS THE WORD :) ......

As soon as I saw all the musical elements, I knew the perfect photo I could use. My Nan loved to sing, in this photo she is singing at the Royal Mail Hotel in Melbourne, she was around 25. I have used a paper doily for the background for my photo, doilys add a beautiful, feminine vintage feel to a layout.
TIP: Ive soaked the doily (and the lace) in a tea solution, then added some gold based glimmermist to it. Finally, I added some distress ink around the edges to give it more of an aged appearance.

Thanks so  much for calling in, I wish everyone a wonderful week, I will be back soon to share some more new Kaisercraft projects with you .......
